Bio

Zhiyuan is currently a postdoctoral scientist working with Prof Tatjana Sauka-Spengler at the MRC Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine, University of Oxford. Her research focuses on studying embryonic development by using single-cell omics and CRISPR techniques.

After undergrad study in biological science at the Peking University, the top university in China, she graduated with the first ranking from the Honors Program. During her DPhil at the Wellcome Centre for Human Genetics and the MRC Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine, University of Oxford, she was co-supervised by Professor Ahmed Ahmed and Professor Christopher Yau. She studied nonsense-mediated decay in the pan-cancer genomes and single-cell transcriptomics of the origin of ovarian cancer.
